MCSE… plz advice…?
i have done MCSE (2003) (messaging) …
somebody told me that only MCSE has no demand in USA.
i should also learn Linux/Unix and CCNA??
is it true??
i have also done ERP (oracle Financials) so, they told me to leave the NEtworkinf field and go back to ERP.. as it is in more demand than MCSE in USA (they told me)…
and also told me to learn oracle 7/8i, c++ ,vb, sql, sql server ect.
i m confused… wht 2 do? stay in Networking ? learn linux.unix? learn CCNA?..
or….
go back to ERP field and learn Oracle…etc..
USA Professionals Plz advice …
wht should i learn and which field is good for USA jobs???
Keep learning as you work. ERP is good in large companies, but an MCSE can be used anywhere. A lot will depend on what jobs you can find. Try http://www.monster.com to see what is available.
There is plenty of demand for MCSE’s, but experience counts as well. Other certs are useful, but more so in smaller companies. If you get into a big company, you will need more experience, but jobs tend to be more specialized. You would either be a server admin, network admin, or dba, whereas in a smaller company you might be all three.
Another important thing to help get interviews is a college degree. You can use some of your certifications for college credit.
