Is there enough salary of US $1,000 per month in Mauritius ?
I got an offer of Oracle Apps job in Mauritius. The payscale is US $1000 per month + Free accommodation + Transportation+ medical facilities+ Insurance+ Air travel expenses +
[you need to take care of 15% tax on annual CTC].
Please anyone tell me that how is the living cost there?
It is a good salary for Mauritius. Don’t worry
With all the benefits you will be having one can live well on half that amount.

LikeDislikeIts enough. All of your main cost are being covered, with that salary you’d be able to even save pretty much from it (if u are living alone).
Utiliy bills (electricity, water, internet and TV) might come around US$130. Food and drinks for a month could be around US$150.

LikeDislikehousing, medical, taxi, bus, hired laborers, fruits and veggies, bread, and haircuts there are super cheap.. everything else seemed to be about same as USA, Canada, UK, or Australia. a nice 2-3 bedroom apartment would run about $300 in noncoastal area, pizza $15-20, 2liter of pop $1.50, for a few examples. All in all I would say you are making about $36000 if living in small town USA(not LA or NYC), but then for a comparison a good job there such as licensed nurse would pay about $500 per month so you would be making twice that plus housing and etc. You could live quite well on that but keep in mind the standard of living there is not even close to what you might be used to in USA. I found it very close to what you would expect in Mexico. In many ways it is very refreshing that way and much less stress. try a site called “servihoo” .com for possible help as they have ads and classifieds and etc.
