Australian Immigration GSM: Latest points system: Plz help?
Hi,
Myself and wife have already applied for ACS verification and both has come positive. Now we are yet to process DIACC processing, before that I would like to know the latest GSM points system for independent skilled migration process. My wife is primary application and she got IELTS – 7 and 6 above in all areas. Job experience 6+ year in Oracle Apps development. Myself has 5 + years of IT expereince and IELTS score above 6 for all areas. ACS outcome shows we are eligible for 60 points. Could you tell me as per new points system announced will we be able to proceed for DIACC?
Following is the points test for independent migration and it will not change until (probably) 1st July when there will be major, as yet unspecified changes. On the following, click on each link under Eligibility requirements to see how points are allocated for each category:

I don’t know enough about you to work out exactly how many points you will get, but your occupation gets you 60; her work experience is worth 10; English is 15 (because she didn’t score straight 7s – would have been 25 with all 7s), Partner Skills is 5; her age is worth 30 points if she is 29 or under or 25 if she is aged 30 to 34 so depending on her age, she scores either 120 or 115. If she has a ‘community language’, that gets another 5. If the score comes to 120 or more, you can apply for subclass 175 independent migration; with 115, you will have to go for state sponsorship for a 176 visa which shouldn’t be too difficult to get with her IT skills. For a State sponsored subclass 176 visa, you only need 100 points AND you get 10 for the sponsorship so you will meet that without any difficulty.
